On Site at UM6P
The following images were captured by Max Farago between the Ben Guerir and Rabat campuses of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Construction was – and still is ongoing, as the university continues to grow in ambition and in size. Max captured the sites amid this transformation, along with the people driving it. He reflects on his experience below.

I shot in the summer and it was hot as hell. I was ducking into the shadows to get away from the sun. There were so many different people doing so many different things. The man with his fists up made coffee for the workers when they arrived, some of whom were skeptical and others keen to be photographed.
What I liked about being on site was the world that developed around it. The makeshift restaurants at its edges. The flow of workers in and out. The way you could walk from construction works to pristine university buildings as if you had been teleported. The fabrics and papers used to keep dust off bicycles. The lights turning on in the evening. The call to prayer and how people would find the space to pray. The shades of the dry earth and dust rising into the sky...
